Moving to the “Big City” was a challenge that I had to get adapted to quickly. There was no more five to ten minute drives, or walking distances. Every motion had to be made with a purpose at first, nothing was for fun. I knew that it would not be easy but it was a challenge that I accepted.
Transitioning from the small town of Grambling, La. where the population is around 5,000 on a busy day to Atlanta, estimated 9 million, was a a big deal for me at first. Upon completing my masters program, in criminal law, I decided to take a step out on faith and move back home. I haven’t been in Georgia in 8 years, was I ready? What was in store for me? How can I do this? What should I expect? some of the questions i asked my self in the process.
Well everything was not peaches and cream for me as I came from the Cajun country back to the great state of Georgia. Upon arrival things were different, but in a good way. Weddings, parties, concerts, and traveling is what I found myself doing and living like I haven’t before. On the downside the job hunt was difficult. I used to be at parties thinking about what job i should be applying to when I got home that night. I knew what I wanted to do and I knew that Atlanta was the place to be for it.
Information Technology! That was it. My dream! I knew that it wouldn’t be easy landing my dream job, but I did know that I had a better opportunity In Atlanta than I did in Grambling, La. As My siblings and parents would tell you I love technology. It used to get me in trouble as a child. I remember dissecting the new computer my parents bought for the household. It became so bad that I would have to sneak into the computer room at night to break down the machine and to put it back together.
Now here We are!
